Chapter one is a boutique hotel that wants to be part of your story by leaving special
memories from Chapter One to the last Chapter. All our rooms are named after books and
the complimentary Danish basket with coffee and tea is served in our library. Our
philosophy is simple we will do all we can to make your Story always have a happy ending.
These are our Terms and Conditions for using our website www.chapter1hotels.com and
which apply during your stay at Chapter One.
No Hen, Stag, Wedding, Engagement or Group Parties taken of any sizes.
No Food deliveries, take outs etc. are permitted at Chapter One
Children over the age of 8 are welcome
No pets at all are accepted at Chapter One
Check In Time is before 19.00pm and arrival after this time is charged at £30.00 per hour if
not arranged in advanced with the hotel
Unfortunately, No Inflatables of any kind are permitted in the hotel
Room occupancy limits must not be exceeded
Chapter One Hotels is a registered limited company in England and Wales based at 68 The
Esplanade, Weymouth, DT4 7AA. Our website is www.chapter1hotels.com and our contact

We are number 68 on the Esplanade opposite the King George statue. If arriving by car
please park in Westham Road between Londis and the William Henry Pub in the loading Bay
whilst offloading your bags. You may drop your bags off after 2pm and we can give you
directions to the car parks.
In many books there are rules, patterns, plots, the right and wrong ways to do stuff. By
using our website and having your story (stay) with us you are accepting and agreeing to our
Terms and Conditions as set out below. Should you decide not to accept OUR Terms and
Conditions we wish you all the very best and hope one day you will use our website and
have your story with us by accepting our Terms and Conditions. You may wish to print out
OUR below Terms and Conditions for future guidance and reading. Should other persons
access our website through your internet connection or platform it is your responsibility to
inform them of OUR Terms and Conditions.
We may have changes to our website due to alterations in our business, product, services,
environment or partners to cover a few. We may make changes without notice. We may
also suspend, withdraw or restrict our website for the same reasons or similar. Should any
persons who access our website through your internet connection or platform it is your
responsibility to inform them of any changes.
You may link to our website, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not
damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way
as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none

WHICH COUNTRY'S LAWS APPLY TO ANY DISPUTES? If you are a consumer, please note that
these terms of use, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law.
You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction
except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in
Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in
Scotland.
At Chapter One we offer various room rates through our detailed rate management system.
The system bases our rates on the season, room type, view, demand or special events and
offer the fairest rates that we can based on the market. All rates are subject to change and
availability. All rates are only confirmed when you have been given a confirmation number.
The room rates include complimentary Italian Breakfast (Danish basket with coffee and tea)
VAT will change on bookings as dictated by the UK Government.
Weymouth has some wonderful and amazing restaurants with an array of food offerings
which are a book throw from Chapter Ones door. We offer a complementary Italian Danish
basket which is a selection of pastries, teas, coffees, hot chocolate, juices, yogurts and fresh
fruits. You are here to relax and we open for pastries from 8.00am to 9.30am so that you
can enjoy your amazing by Royal Appointment Hypnos bed.
These are the type of rates that you will see:
Advanced Purchase – Rates that are purchased with full payment usually seven days
prior to arrival and are non-refundable or transferable under any circumstances. The same
credit card must be presented upon check in that purchased this rate.
Best Available Rate – Our rate management system offers the best daily rate
available for your particular dates. You are able to change or cancel this rate before 12pm
noon seven days prior to arrival only incurring payment of the non-refundable deposit equal
to the first night’s room charge. Cancellations after 12pm noon seven days prior to arrival
will be charged the full booking or remaining balance based on the whole number of nights
the booking was for. Therefore, no refunds, changes in date or reduction in nights will be
permitted.
Promotional Rates – These rates may be governed by separate Terms and Conditions that will take precedence. Should the number nights be increased or decreased separate charges will apply based on Chapter One’s Terms and Conditions and rate management.
Rates – All our rates are based on a per room rate and not per person rate.
Upon checking in all room nights will be paid for and any additional services requested in full. Any additional services will be charged at point of booking. Should charges not be paid upon departure you authorise us to charge your credit debit card. No cash payments will be taken unless a credit debit card is taken as a guarantor.
Prime Season Policy between 19th May – 9th October
To confirm a booking more than 7 days prior to arrival, we require the first night’s accommodation fee as a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.
To confirm a booking less than 7 days prior to arrival, the full value of the booking needs to be settled. THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
If rooms are cancelled more than 7 days prior to Arrival, the deposit is not refundable or transferable. All booked nights will be charged not just the first night.
Regretfully, cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the arrival date are charged at 100% of the total accommodation cost.
This charge will be taken from the same card number you have given us. Cancellations must be made in writing or e-mail.
All non-arrivals will be charged for the entire stay not just the first night you authorise us to charge your credit debit card.
Whilst at Chapter One we need you to relax and have the best story whilst staying with us. We will look after you with respect and hospitality and ask that you do the same to fellow guests and the Chapter One team.
We do not permit under any circumstances:
The meeting of parties
Only registered guests to use their room or the Library
Loud bedroom noise from music, television or apps
Please be mindful entering and leaving the hotel between 11pm and 8am due to other guests sleeping.
Should the Chapter One management receive complaints about other guests or we feel the conduct terms have been breached. We may ask you to vacate the hotel immediately with no refund and possible charges of compensation to other guests will be applied. These will
be charged to your credit or debit card which you authorise us to do to your credit or debit card.
Accidents do happen as we all know and as we are boutique we do reserve the right of which you authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for damages to your room or the hotel. All rooms are checked on a daily bases and if hotel items are missing or damaged they will be charged for on your credit or debit card which you authorise us to do to your credit or debit card. Any damaged carpet with spills, burns or other will be charged before departure.
KEY’s:KEY’s:
Upon check in you will be given your room keys. One key is for your room and the other key opens the two front doors of the hotel. Should you lose or not return your keys a charge will be applied. For the room key a charge of £135.00 will be applied. For the hotel doors £790.00. The Key Tag is charged at £20.00 minus VAT. These are all minus of VAT. We do not store room keys once checked in. The loss of keys will be charged to your credit or debit card which you authorise us to do as part of our terms and conditions upon booking.
Chapter One is a non-smoking hotel in all areas of the hotel including the main hotel entrance. This includes all forms of smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vapes, chemicals and e-cigarettes etc. Smoking within the hotel or tampering with the hotels fire system carry’s an instant fine of £250.00 and eviction from the hotel with no refund on the remainder of your stay.
No candles, burning oils, tea lights or any flammable materials are permitted with in Chapter One. Should this be found in any rooms you be asked to leave the hotel with immediate effect with no refund for the remainder of your stay.
Our check in time is generally between 2pm and 7pm. Late arrivals will incur a late charge of £30 per hour after 7pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to store luggage for early arrivals. Check out time is 10.30am which may only be extended by the owners of Chapter One at a charge.
Chapter One accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, Pandemic Viruses, Natural disasters, Flooding, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.
Chapter One does not accept any liability or responsibility for loss or damage to any property left in the hotel. However, we will follow the Inn Keepers act of 1956. We will not accept any liability or responsibility for property left at the hotel upon check out. We can post the article back at the guest’s total expense.
The Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or pure economic loss or any loss of profit, goodwill or opportunity (whether caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees, contractor or agents or otherwise). The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the charges received by it under the Contract. Nothing contained in the Contract or in any other document referred to or incorporated in it shall be read or construed as excluding any liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Unfortunately, Chapter One does not have any parking. The nearest car parks are Park Street, Royal Yard and Melcombe Regis car park. These are chargeable as the council will not offer any subsidies to the hospitality business.
Chapter One accepts no liability or responsibility for your car.
Please read the car park signs as the council are very hot on writing tickets.
At Chapter One we are following the latest guidance from the Government. From Thursday 27th January 2022, there will no longer be a necessity to wear masks in any areas of the hotels.
Our teams will no longer be required to wear masks but some may choose to continue to do so. You are of course welcome to carry on wearing them if you feel more comfortable.
Hand sanitisation points will continue to be in place throughout and we will carry on with our rigorous cleaning processes.
